HOW I HAVE YOU IN STITCHES GOT STARTED
I celebrate family - and love - and connection with those who are dear to us. I believe that special memories deserve to be treasured. And it is in that spirit that “I Have You in Stitches” was born.
In wanting to impart that feeling to our young grandchildren, several years ago I made them each a unique memory bear as their special Christmas gift. The fabrics that I used all held a special meaning - their great grandparents’ shirts and sweaters, my husband’s favorite shirt, my well-worn robe, and even fabrics from the play clothes I had made for my children when they were little. Generations of family heritage, all wrapped up in a cuddly bear for our littlest ones to hold and treasure.
My lifelong love of quilts inspired the addition of Heirloom Pillows to the commemorative products we offer as an alternative to the bears. I grew up in a home that had lots of quilts made by my great grandmother. Even as a little girl, I appreciated the family legacy those quilts represented and a connection to someone I never knew.

We create custom made Memory Bears and Heirloom Pillows, lovingly crafted from from your special fabrics or a loved one’s clothing. As an additional special feature, we can create and link a video tribute from your photographs and videos as part of the special story your bear or pillow will tell.
